Post waxing advice
Here’s some useful post-wax advice
After activities…
Your skin will be much more sensitive after waxing, so there are some things you should avoid doing for a few days after your waxing treatment. To avoid infection, and to allow your skin to heal faster, you should avoid swimming, Jacuzzi’s and hot tubs – you should also avoid going to the gym or activities which may cause you to sweat, as this can cause further irritation to your skin and can risk infection.
After clothing…
Knowing what’s best to wear after your wax treatment is important. Tight clothing, rucksacks, tight underwear etc are likely to cause extra irritation on your freshly waxed skin. It’s best to wear loose fit clothing, especially if you’ve had an Intimate waxing treatment, you should wear loose fit underwear to help avoid irritation.
Pain & Irritation…
It’s normal for your skin to be both sensitive and irritated after your waxing treatment, some people even have a reaction causing white bumps/spots. Soothing products like Witch Hazel & Aloe Vera are great and can be applied straight after waxing. Avoid using heavy creams & oily products though, as they’ll prevent the skin from breathing and cause further irritation. If you have a reaction, it’s recommended to take an Anti-Histamine for a few days after treatment.
Clean & Exfoiliate…
It’s important to stat exfoiliating around 3 days after your treatment using a suitable product for that area. It’s a good idea to exfoiliate 2/3 times per week, remember to be gentle as your skin may still be sensitive after waxing. Reguluar exfoiliation will keep your skin soft and reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. Be careful not to exfoiliate too much though, as this isn’t good for your skin either.
